The Tastiest Tuesday in Town!

JULY 9, 2019 – NEW HARTFORD, NY – The New Hartford Farmers Market opens its 6th week today and will include an exciting change! Picnic in the Park, the food truck festival that has been happening in the far parking lot in Sherrill Brook Park, will move across the street from the Farmers Market starting today. Between the food trucks and farmers market is a large gazebo where Rebecca Miner will be playing live originals and covers from 3 til 8pm.

There is a large grassy area between the Farmers Market and the gazebo where people can grab a table or lay down a picnic blanket while they eat and listen to live music.

The New Hartford Farmers Market restarted this year in a new location and day of the week….and has tripled the number of vendors. This year, The Farmers Market is open every Tuesday, rain or shine, through September from 3 ’til 7pm in Sherrill Brook Park. The Town has provided permanent cover for most of the market with two new pavilions. (The Market will close only in cases of severe weather.)

Picnic in the Park New Hartford started last summer in Sherrill Brook Park. The Utica Food Truck Association provides a great event with 12 or more food trucks in one place offering a carefully organized assortment of dining choices. There is something for everyone, including those with restricted diets! There are plenty of tables available so as to sit and enjoy a meal while listening to live music.

All the Farmers Market vendors and Food Trucks are members of The New Hartford Chamber of Commerce. The chamber’s mission is “to foster economic vitality and quality of life in New Hartford”. The chamber is promoting the two events as “Town Park Tuesdays – The Tastiest Tuesdays in Town” and is working with other chamber members in raising money to provide live music and other family fun in the park.

Today’s live musical performance is by Rebecca Miner. Rebecca is a singer/songwriter living and performing in Central and Upstate New York. Originally from Alabama, she has called New York state her home since 2006.

Says Rebecca,  “My mother claims I could sing before I could talk. Music has always been a part of my life.”

She grew up singing in church choirs and performing in theatre productions. Rebecca received a BFA in Theatre Performance from Auburn University and a MA from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, VA. After school, she committed most of her time to raising her two sons. In 2006 she moved to New York where she returned to my first love – music!

The New Hartford Chamber would like to extend gratitude to Rebecca for joining us today and also to our generous sponsors for their support.
